PQ Group Holdings Inc., a provider of specialty catalysts, materials, chemicals and services, announced in a company press release that Albert F. Beninati Jr. has joined PQ as President, Performance Chemicals, effective December 1.
“I am confident that Al brings the right leadership to our Performance Chemicals group to build on PQ’s strong foundations of safety, customer focus and operational excellence,” said Belgacem Chariag, PQ President and Chief Executive Officer, in the press release. “He is an exceptionally strong executive who has a history of successfully driving performance culture and results.”
Beninati brings nearly three decades of global leadership experience in the industrial and chemicals sector, most recently as Business Segment President for W.R. Grace & Co.’s Specialty Catalyst business.
Prior to joining Grace in 2014, Beninati served as Vice President, Municipal Water Treatment at Univar, a leading distributor of chemicals and also had a 22-year career in a variety of positions with Nalco Chemical Company, a global supplier of water, energy, and air improvement solutions. Beninati began his career in the military, serving five years as an officer in the U.S. Army. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry/General Engineering from the United States Military Academy, West Point, N.Y., and is a graduate of the Kellogg School of Management Advanced Executive Program.
