Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation announced that a US substance patent for biomass-resource derived aliphatic diols and derivatives has been granted.
The patent (U.S. patent No. 10287393) has broad applications in business operations engaged in the manufacture or sale of the above-mentioned products. Examples of the aliphatic diols include a butane diol and a both-hydroxy-terminated polyether and examples of the derivatives include cyclic compounds such as tetrahydrofuran.
MCC owns many other patents for biomass-based products. By utilizing those patents, MCC will not only continue to expand its own business but also promote collaborative efforts and licensing arrangements with other companies to promote the spread of those products, further expand the market, and contribute to a sustainable carbon society.
