Meridian Adhesives Group (Meridian) announced the grand opening of its Penang Application Development Center (ADC), a facility designed to advance adhesive technology and innovation across Asia. According to a company press release, this strategic expansion enhances Meridian’s footprint in the region, reinforcing the capabilities of Pacific Adhesive Systems, a key brand within its Electronics Division, and delivering breakthrough adhesive solutions to a global customer base.
Advancing Adhesive Technology Across Key Industries
Meridian’s Electronics Division focuses on high-performance adhesive solutions for critical industries, including semiconductors, consumer electronics, automotive, and aerospace. The division encompasses brands such as Epoxy Technology Inc. (manufacturer of Epo-Tek®), Epoxies, Etc., and Pacific Adhesive Systems.
As an extension of Pacific Adhesive Systems, the new Penang ADC will serve as a premier technical hub, providing advanced adhesive application development, material testing, and process optimization support to Electronics Division customers throughout Asia.

The Penang ADC is equipped with the latest in adhesive expertise, technology, and testing capabilities, offering specialized services such as:
- Thermal & Mechanical Testing – Comprehensive material analysis with UV-DSC, TGA, DMA, and TMA instruments.
- Environmental & Durability Assessments – Advanced testing chambers for humidity, temperature cycling, and aging simulations.
- Precision Measurement & Analysis – Quality control and R&D tools, including die shear testing, rheometry, and viscometry.
- Automated Dispensing & Mixing Technologies – Cutting-edge adhesive application methods, such as plasma treatment and UV curing systems.
- State-of-the-Art Cleanroom & Thermal Processing – A Class 10K cleanroom designed for contamination-sensitive adhesive applications.
